About the Chef

My name is Lila Bloch-Schulman — my initials are lbs, which means I was practically destined to measure ingredients. I’m 13 years old and my favorite thing to work with is dough.

This business was born because I was baking so much that my family and I couldn’t finish it all fast enough. If you’re worried that I’m not qualified, I want you to know that I have completed the ServSafe Restaurant Manager course and passed the certification exam.

The worst thing that has ever happened to me while baking is this: while pulling a hot pan of peanut butter cookies out of the oven, I tripped over my dog Sadie and got a 3-inch burn on my arm. But don’t worry, there are no dogs allowed at the commercial kitchen where I bake your treats.

When I’m not serving up delicious vegan baked goods at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, I am performing in musicals, writing poetry and watching Downton Abbey. I hope I meet you at the market!
